Dough Pizza

We were looking for somewhere new to try for lunch today, and after hearing a recommendation from a friend about Dough Pizza at Whitfords – we thought we’d give it a try! Well, I have to say we certainly weren’t disappointed – the staff were fantastic, we got a nice quiet table inside, out of the windy weather and rain and the seats were even comfy.

We started off with the garlic bread in pizza style and the fresh rosemary was so delicious…the Royals decided the crusts were the best bit, and the other half was eyeing off the mini Royals leftover piece so you know it’s good!

They have a small but lovely wine list with mostly Italian wines, and I was lucky enough to taste one or two before ordering, which they were really happy to do…I ended up getting a glass of the slightly heavier Italian red (below the one that is served by the glass) and the other half had a couple of Matso’s ginger beers (if you haven’t tried them before, definitely worth the splurge) then there was juice and ice for the Royals and everyone was happy.

The Royals had a custom kids margarita pizza and chips, both of which were a huge hit! There are a LOT of menu options and everything is handmade on site so you know it’s fresh and made with love, and it really shows in their food. The other half just had to have a calzone, and I had one of their many vegetarian pizzas which was so delicious. Thinly sliced pumpkin with quality black olives, roasted peppers and eggplant along with the perfect amount of cheese…crisp woodfired crusts with a thin base, ahhh it was the perfect combination.

They even had some Nutella donuts on the specials menu which we were planning on eating too (the other half even promised them to the Royals before we’d ordered) but we literally couldn’t fit anything else in! I did hear that the Tiramisu is also amazing, but will save that idea for next time too!

With such an unassuming façade out the front, it would be easy to pass it by…but I highly encourage you to go in! The food and service was seriously fantastic and the open kitchen is an awesome feature of any restaurant. We’ll definitely be back for another meal again soon!
